FruitHere's a list of the fruit we hope to have available throughout our 2024 growing season. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and what she may bring to our orchard - so we can not guarantee all fruit varieties at any given time.

Apples
We have early fall varieties such as Honeycrisp and Red Seckel Pears as well as late fall fruits available.

Honeycrisp
With its honey-like taste, the Honeycrisp variety is ideal for eating raw. It is fantastically crisp, and boasts a delicate sweet-tart balance and a light berry flavour.
Honeycrisp

Cox Orange Pippin
This apple's reputation is hard to ignore with its balanced, sweet-tart flavour and complex blend of honeyed, spice-filled, and fruity nuances. Not only is it good for fresh eating, it is also popular in cider blends.

Elstar
Elstar apples have a balanced, sweet-tart flavour with pear and honey undertones mixed with mild acidity. It is a relative of the Golden Delicious and is a great snack or baking apple.

Winter Banana
Winter Banana apples have a subtly fruity, tropical scent that is reminiscent of banana or pineapple at peak maturity. The flesh of the fruit also has a mild and balanced, sweet, and tangy flavour. The mildness of its flavour makes it less desirable as a cooking or baking apple. Best stored to ripen until November then eaten or juiced.

Belle de Boskoop
Here's one for those of us who love some sharpness in an apple. It is a classic long-storing dual-purpose apple, versatile in the kitchen (keeps its shape), and good for eating fresh. It has value as a sharp in hard cider blends as well.

Freedom
Freedom apples are similar to McIntosh in flavour with sweet, subacidic, sprightly flavour and juicy white flesh. Good multi-use apple - eating, baking and cider.
Freedom

Jonafree
A crisp, juicy somewhat tart apple. The Jonafree is similar in texture to the Jonathan but with a sweet, tart flavour. A fabulous fresh apple - great to eat right off the tree.

King (of Tompkins County)
This variety has a crunchy, aromatic flesh and delicious sub-acidic flavour. It is an excellent multi-purpose apple: perfect fresh, baked, or pressed for cider. Some say this is what apples "used to taste like".

Pears
Our three varieties of pears will be available late summer to fall.

Moonglow
The juicy Moonglow pear has a soft, smooth texture and a sweet, mild flavour. Bartlett-like in taste and texture. This pear is perfect for eating and looks as good as it tastes.

Comice
Comice are a highly aromatic pear with a very rich velvety texture. They have an incredibly juicy, buttery perfumed taste that most consider unbeatable. Great for eating off the tree or used in baking.
Comice

Seckel (Red)
Small gourmet pear. Exceptional flavour with creamy white, sweet juicy flesh. Seckel pears are favoured for their very sweet flavour and are versatile in the kitchen being used in fresh, cooked, or even canned whole.
